Car companies likely to hike discounts on flat sales

Expect the discounts and freebies on cars to go up. As higher fuel prices, increased insurance costs and rising interest rates pinch the customer's pockets, the annual Diwali fireworks are missing for the car industry which is battling heavy inventory and poor retail offtake.
