Sensex plunges 400 points in intra-day trade as rupee hits new low of 72.67

Spooked by a plunging rupee and widening current account deficit in the domestic market and trade war concerns on the global front, the benchmark equity indices plunged a per cent in Monday's intra-day trading. Sensex shed 419.64 points to hit the intra-day low of 37,970.18 while Nifty too dipped below the key mark of 11,500.
